Words: Amber Gray (she/her)

home,

she the hills and the hills her

a knot untethered and forgiving

soft hands grasping invitation of light,

sun shining beams that pathed the ways

wells and stone walls, reminders of who we are

Earth uprooted

eggshell cobbles crack underfoot

Nature forgotten

mind a concrete jungle

Landscape of destruction

urban shrapnel

What was once opaque becomes translucent

bulldoze your way through me

Empty eyes

full dark pupils

the loch a siren, I return to her
